2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited SaharaOrdered this sensor that is advertised as OEM, received an Aftermarket instead...In the photos: Left is the OEM sensor that I pulled from my Rear Passenger Side, Right is the sensor I received from amazon.There are very little differences between the sensors. They are the same shape and size and have similar build quality.The OEM sensor has the part number along with a serial number molded into the plastic, the sensor I received does not. Plastics feel the same and it works. I have little faith that this will last as the OEM sensor failed at 40,000 miles.The Good: I saved $275 by buying this sensor and performing the work myself.The Bad: Not the OEM part I believed I was purchasing.Other thoughts: Maybe Chrysler should actually make good OEM parts to begin with. It’s a shame that a 3 year old Jeep with 40,000 miles on it is having sensors fail. Even worse is that the dealer was going to charge me $300 to replace the sensor. The Jeep is barely out of warranty.Installation: It was very easy for me. It took 45 minutes from setup to cleanup. I used a bottle jack to raise up the right rear axle, then used a jack stand to secure it. I took the wheel off with a 1/2” impact with the correct size metric socket for the lugs. Then I removed the old sensor using an 8mm socket on a 1/4” drive ratchet. Then I pulled the old sensor out about halfway. I was able to twist it to where I could unplug the harness connector... it wasn’t easy to unplug it. You have to push the red tab up. I used a flathead screwdriver to do this. Then you have to press into the grey tab to release the connector. Then I reassembled everything with the new sensor. Once done I plugged up my code scanner and reset the ABS error codes.I hope I can help whoever reads this....
"Not a genuine mopar" sensor seems to be Chinese, i installed it beacuse i had been waiting for a week for it and i needed it, lets see if it does the job, will update any info!!! "Update" part did not work!!
After installing new front unit bearings that come with new front sensors, I decided it made sense to replace the rear sensors as well so all is factory new again. It has been 6 months since the easy install on my 2008 JKUR and I have had zero problems with these.
Had this sensor go out on my Jeep, replaced with this and all was right with the world again.
